This Term, we will be doing work on poetry and prose based on the textbook Living Through Literature 1
Home Based Learning (HBL)
To All Sec 1E and 1N students
1. Read the 2 new posts for the Home-based lesson.
2. If you have the poetry textbook, complete your answers in your text book.
3.If you are doing the question on Matilda, write your answer on a piece of foolscap.

Take Note for Tuesday 21/4
1. Video
I have uploaded and marked all 7 videos for exam. If you want to watch them, make sure you download the whole video properly first and then listen. If not, there would be many stops.
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL GROUPS AS THE VIDEO TAPING IS COMPLETED AS OF 21/4
3. Tuesday 21/4: ALL PLEASE READ
Bring the rest of the objects for group and sketchbook to hand in for exam. Read this post where I had listed missing objects.
Final Grade: 60% for Group Work (Artifact)
: 40% for Individual Work (Sketch Book)
Total : 100% for SA1

1. Bring Sketch Book only and the coloured pens etc that you would need for INDIVIDUAL project.You need to hand in the book 21/4/09.
Make sure that your family member has done the reflection for you.

TERM 2
The CHARACTER suitcase: GROUP
This project helps you to see that everyone will act according to character and make choices according to their character too.
When you choose a holiday destination or activities/
clothes/shoes/etc for your character, I would be able to see if you know the concept of character very well from the things that you choose for him/her. I would also be able to gauge your feelings about them.
The Character suitase/SketchBook Project: Individual
You will have to work with ONE member of your family and send him/her on an imagined holiday. Whatever you do for your group, you might want to consider for your family member. Make sure that you write down your discussions with your chosen family member in your sketchbooks so you can do your best for him/her. You should encourage your family member to write down his/her thoughts too. You should be able to draw/sketch the activities or even have clipart /paste pictures (if you are not a good artist)

PEEL Format: To write an essay using the PEEL format
P = Point
E = Evidence
E = Elaboration
L = Link
Theme: Theme is an idea or message about life, society or human nature.
Symbol: A symbol is an object that represent another object or idea.
Characters: Characters are actors in the story and they have their own personalities and points of view. Their personalities can be seen through the eyes of others as well as what they did and say in the story.

This blog is for homework and instructions. I would sometimes display work done by students in jpeg or slide. Please note that all work displayed is in the raw state, used to inspire or as springboards to class discussions.
To students
Please visit this blog two days before your lesson. I would post homework and instructions on Sunday, after 1.oo pm. All homework completed to my satisfaction and brought on the day of the lesson will be given the homework star, which may give you an advantage. However, tardy homework will get not get the homework star at all.
This site is for Sec 1A1 and 1E4. However students from other classes are welcome to visit and stay for a while.
